> How is social media harmful?
Tons of reasons. One of many: it intentionally exploits the brain's reward mechanism. It "fries" the brain with extremely high levels of dopamine, which completely destroys the capacity for delaying immediate pleasure in favor of achieving a long-term goal. It makes you an incapable wreck.
> Social media has spread progressive ideas.
Indeed. I will not discuss whether that's a good or bad thing.
> Why would you want parents to control children?
Placing the burden on the parent is just one possible approach. Also, controlling your children is necessary to a certain extent - your job as a parent is to bring up the child well and you cannot do that if you never control the child in any capacity.
> So only wolves can rebel?
By the theory itself, only wolves have the ability to rebel - sheep do not. This is unconditional.
> Why do you want even more government control?
I do not.
> Social media has done nothing but good.
That's patently false.
